Vacation is FINALLY here!!!

It's almost time...I didn't think it would EVER get here! I am OBX bound for another week of family fun, some sun, and rest and relaxation which is WAY over due:-) I am going to start my vacation tomorrow and will also be out all of next week and the following Monday. We are going to begin our vacation with a trip to a Norfolk Tides game and then head to the beach on Saturday for the week! Then on the following Monday, Shelley and I are going to do our "trash the dress" photo shoot:-) I'll try and schedule some posts if I have time BUT if not, I'll post when I get back...don't know what I'll do for a week without checking my blog...LOL! All of us last year after visiting the aquarium in Manteo!

My FAVORITE picture of Tucker last year!

All of us (except for Kevin, he's behind the camera) inside the aquarium in front of the shark tank!

Best of Luck to Shelley on her new journey...

I knew this time would come BUT I didn't want it to...today is NOT Shelley's last day here at Resinall BUT it's "our" last day with just she and I. The new hire will be here tomorrow and then I will be on vacation on Friday of this week and her entire last week which is next week. So I wanted to give her a little going away gift...she's dropped enough hints in the past that she wanted a personalized Tervis Tumbler like mine so that's what I got her. I was going to save it for her birthday in November but since she's leaving I thought that I would go ahead and give it to her. Needless to say she was VERY HAPPY about that:-) She already knows how I feel about her leaving (I explained all that in the going away card that brought tears to my eyes as I wrote it) but I'll say just a bit in this post AGAIN. Shelley and I started the same year here at Resinall in the same department (QC), she came in March of 2008 and I came a few months later in May of 2008. She and I have grown to be close friends over the years, particularly in our last 4 years. It is a friendship that I will cherish forever! I did tell her that she had to promise to email, text, call, and get together often so that our friendship won't drift! Oh...and we have to do SDV's together!!!! Shelley...I know you will read this and I told you that I was holding you to ALL of this! I wish you the best of luck in your future, I am so happey for you...I know you well enough to know that you will accomplish the goals that you have layed out to me! Thanks for everything girlie! I'll miss you bunches (our venting sessions, our lunches (gotta find some new place to go now!), our girl to girl talks and so much more)! It'll take some getting use to NOT seeing you everyday BUT I'll somehow make it thru our emails, phone calls, blog posts, and text messages (and heck...you might even be cleaning my teeth one day...LOL)! I luv ya like a sister girl!

The most beautiful rainbow...

I received this on an email awhile back...another one of those that makes you think of how valuable life is and to NOT sweat the small stuff...
The most beautiful rainbow... As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Tucker's Duck story...

A month or so ago we went to Dockside Restaurant to eat. For those out of state bloggers who may not know...Dockside is a restaurant on the river. It has just reopened under new owners and is delicious:-) The big thing for the kids is to feed the fish, turtles, and ducks their leftover bread from dinner. Well, Tucker was having a good old time feeding the ducks when he ran out of bread and one duck pecked his finger startling him so now when anybody ask him "What did the duck do to your finger"?, this is what he tells you...too dag on cute!!! Be sure you watch 'til the end when he explains how the duck bit his finger!

More Uppercase Living...

Just a few more pieces done with Uppercase Living! These are 2 TV trays that I helped my sister with for her mother and father-n-law. They are going to be Christmas gifts, they turned out super cute BUT not as cute as the little fellow in the middle of them:-) I have also done a few other gifts that I'm dying to share but I'll have to post later b/c I don't want to give them away b/c those folks look at my blog...I'll share later I promise:-)

Trip to Williamsburg

My roommates from college and myself try to get up with each other for a day at least a couple times a year. It's always worked out that we meet in Williamsburg since it's only a couple hours away for myself, Dana (not pictured-she couldn't make it this time), and Rachel (the blonde). Tricia (the one in the middle) is only about 30 minutes away. Rachel is from Orange, VA which is North of Richmond and Tricia is from Gloucester, VA and then Dana and myself from Franklin. We have the BEST time, we usually spend the entire day shopping:-) We always have so much to catch up on even though we email frequently! I sure do miss those good 'ole college days at Longwood College (now University) in Farmville, VA!

We don't have to BUT we always take the Jamestown Ferry to Williamsburg! Mom and Whitney rode along with me to do some shopping as well. A BIG thanks to them for riding so that I wouldn't have to make the trip by myself:-)

More pics from the ferry!

Jamestown boats!

Saturday Evening Fun with Tucker...

After cleaning out all day on Saturday, Kevin and I decided to go see what Tucker was up to...he had just woken up from a 3 hour nap (very unusual for him to nap that long BUT Whitney was happy b/c she got so much done in that 3 hour period...LOL) so he was wide open! So Kevin and I took him outside for some play time. We played on the swingset, threw the ball for Bo, and jumped on the trampoline. I really wanted to see Tucker ride his new John Deere tractor that he finally got from him birthday BUT we didn't have time for that so that will come as a later post! OH...please excuse my REDNECK voice on the video and I am NOT singing just so you don't think that I'm the worst singer ever (well...actually I probably am...LOL!) Bo...Charlie, Whitney, and Tucker's yellow lab! Tucker calls him BoBo!
Tucker playing on his swingset and yes Charlie and Whitney are trying to brain wash him early...Virginia Tech fans as you can tell by the colors!

Swinging from the top!

See-sawing!

Tucker and Aunt Chele stop jumping so that Uncle KK can take a picture after we realize that he has videod us!

Saturday Cleaning...

Today I spent most of the day doing some cleaning and much needed cleaning out! I still have a long ways to go BUT at least I got a start! I have WAY to many clothes as most women do so don't be giving me a hard time...LOL! I managed to get one tub full to be taken to the local CHKD thrift store in which all profits go to the children's hospital.

Just another "cool" email that I received...

The Cupid Shuffle

Well Tucker is learning how to do the "Cupid Shuffle" line dance! Whitney had said some time ago that she knew that he could do the cupid shuffle b/c he knows how to do all the dances, etc. on everyone of his DVD's. We've been trying to sneak up on him doing the dances to his DVD's BUT haven't succeeded yet w/out him knowing that we were going to film him. Below is a small video that I was able to get of him just before bath time on his 1st attempt at the "Cupid Shuffle" a few weekends ago, it's VERY short but CUTE! The picture below...I have a toy basket at my house for Tucker with all kinds of stuff...well, he dug thru it and pulled out a few of the fake lei's that were freebies when Kevin and I went to Hawaii (not nearly as beautiful as the real one's we received). The next thing we knew he was doing the Hawaiian dance that is on one of his "Kid Songs" videos...hands, hips, and all...and believe me he has got the moves down pat!! I was just too late to get video of it!

Too Funny BUT Disgusting...

I received this on an email last week and thought I would share...It's way too funny BUT oh so disgusting!!! Don't you wish you had the time and got paid the money that these people do to think up such stuff...LOL!

Needed Prayers for my Uncle Earl Wayne

My family is in need of some extra prayers, my Uncle Earl Wayne was diagnosed some time back with the same type cancer that Shelley's Dad was diagnosed with. In fact, I believe that they were diagnosed within a few months of each other. We learned this past weekend on our visit to Richmond that he wasn't doing so well with this round of treatments, he is very weak and sick this go round. The doctors are having to go a different route since the 1st type of treatment didn't kill the cancer off, the cancer didn't grow but they were hoping that it would shrink it. So, if you will, please keep my Uncle Earl Wayne and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Below is a picture of my Mom, my Uncle Earl Wayne, and my Aunt Peggy (the Moore sisters and brother). This was taken at my wedding in September 2005.

Amanda's Bridal Shower Luncheon

On Saturday, Mom, Whitney, and myself traveled to Richmond for a Bridal Luncheon Shower for my cousin Eric's fiance, Amanda. Eric is my Mom's brother's son, he is 2 years younger than myself. We went to my Aunt Peggy's (my Mom's sister) first so that she could drive us to the luncheon so that we wouldn't get lost. She lives in Richmond too! The luncheon was wonderful and Amanda got so many nice gifts. I wish Eric and Amanda the best! Their wedding day is fastly approaching...September 13th! So there's more to come, I will hopefully have pics from their special day to post when that day gets here!

Kevin and I with many of our kid admirer's on that special day!

I dug up a few snapshots that someone sent me from my wedding day just to kind of show you the difference in the way my dress fit the actual day compared to now! It's kind of hard to tell BUT I can sure feel the difference in the way it fits...will try to post some professional shots on my anniversary that will be coming up in September.

Tonight, Bucky Covington, yes the one that was on American Idol, is coming to perform along with the country group Lady Antebellum!
